Best Paris hotels in safe neighborhoods
PartagerOur selection of charming hotels in the quietest and most secure areas of Paris
Like all large capitals, Paris contains more or less quiet neighborhoods, where the crime statistics are not the same.
At night, the districts to avoid are Montmarte, Pigalle, Gare du Nord. The ideal is to reside on the left bank of the Seine, in the Latin Quarter (5th and 6th “arrondissement”). This historic district is teeming with good restaurants, beautiful medieval and renaissance churches, and quality boutiques on Boulevard Saint-Germain. Strolling around the Pantheon, the Saint-Germain market and the Saint-Sulpice church in the evening is very pleasant. The 7th arrondissement is also very safe, around the mythical “Le bon marché” and the Lutetia palace.
The hotels we recommend are independent of large chains, with a very strong character:
The Hôtel des Marronniers (main picture) next to the Saint-Germain church is a well-kept secret, a bubble of tranquility in the heart of the lively Latin Quarter. The large flowery terrace of the interior courtyard with its glazed glass roof, its vaulted cellars which serve as a living room, give it an inimitable character. And the good news is that it has three stars, so not very expensive!
More modern, the hotel les Bulles de Paris ( bulles means bubble), also in the Latin quarter closer to the Panthéon, declines the theme of champagne. A very comfortable renovated four-star hotel with a spa, a designer bar and activities such as wine tasting.
Like Le Bulles, the Saint-Jacques hotel is located on the large and quiet evening rue des Ecoles, which is full of traditional restaurants (le Coupe chou, la Petite périgourdine) next to the famous cabaret Le Paradis Latin.
The Saint-Jacques hotel is a safe bet. You immerse yourself in a Belle Epoque atmosphere, special care is taken in the warm decoration. A marble fireplace in the superior rooms, master paintings, tapestries, woodwork and moldings, luxury at an affordable price. A spa with sauna and hammam is also integrated, rare for a three star.
In this district do not miss the wine bars (where you can also eat) at Bon Vivant and Le Porte pot.
Finally, if you have the means or for a special honeymoon-type occasion, book the four-star suite with terrace at the hotel Le Parc Saint-Séverin, which offers a breathtaking view of Notre-Dame, the Pantheon and the Eiffel Tower. A small intimate hotel without many rooms, located in a very quiet square. The director of Champagne Tours worked there in the early 2010s!
Champagne Tours is a French company that accompany you from your Parisian hotel for day trips in the most famous sparkling wine region in order to discover its heritage, its history, its landscapes and its cellars.
